A friend of my brother recently said that she wanted an iPad for Christmas. When he asked that why, she actually could not give an answer. To which he replied that she was stupid. Do step into their policy, but many people are considering buying an iPad or tablet now because they are fashionable.
It is no wonder that one of the most talked about and searched items is the Apple iPad. Apple is famous for taking simple but somewhat obscure product ideas and to their bodies so that most people have never been. Their biggest hit is the iPod that has more than 57% of market for MP3 players, and what's the most popular music player around.
But first, it is important to ask why you want a Tablet? Wilson Rothman poses this question in his article highlighting the benefits of the Galaxy vs iPad tab. So why do you want an iPad and what you can expect out?

Should I buy for games?
An iPad offers an advantage over other tablets because it lacks an accelerometer which is essentially a motion sensor. The accelerometer on the iPad is extremely sensitive and allows playing games that take advantage of its accuracy. Some of these games, including popular games such as Top Gun (a Hunter aircraft simulation that allows you to organize the iPad as if you hold a driving). This option allows the iPad interactive great for players who want to feel like they is in the game a little more, while sitting on the bus.
Should I buy for reading?
Depends on the type of reading that do you. While many popular eBook libraries offer iPad apps, it would not be my first recommendation. Screen is bright and enlightened back making more tax for eyes. eBooks are specifically with technology eliminate eyestrain. Most eBooks are not colour use a technology called eink or ePaper, which gives eBook display paper almost like usability. The advantage is that there is no glare (which makes it ideal for reading outdoors). However, if you want access to magazines (especially those with heavy image content) or on the Internet, the iPad can be a good fit.
Should I buy for movies?
If you already use the same iTunes or your iPod to watch movies and TV shows, you will love the iPad for these efforts. However, if you have Netflix, you may love it even more. Currently, the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch all have access to the Netflix mobile application (just another mobile device is the phone for Windows 7). This is by far one of the vivid contrasts between the iPad and other tablets, currently. The ability to access streaming live film and television will make your trip much more enjoyable.
Should I buy for productivity?
It is a mixed bag and probably depends on what types of productivity you need to use it for. One of the things that noted is that input on a keyboard less machine can be difficult and frustrating. There are applications that can help to type, but the iPad has no shortage of my favorite touch screen typing apps, Swype. Needless to say that if you want to be productive by typing applications (email, word documents, etc.) the iPad can contribute well to this objective. However, if you are looking for the convenience of having calendars, financial, and other productivity and organizational tools at your side-it may be useful to draw up a list of things you want to do with everyday and check the iTunes Store to see if there is "an app for that."
